In the future, an artist will not be someone who paints pictures, or makes sculptures; they will be someone who points and says, 'this is art'. They will point at Campbell's Soup Cans and say, 'This is art. Make what of it.'
And this annoys me.
The reason art is something so hard to define, with the question 'what is art?' still left unanswered, is because it's often something very personal. Sometimes so personal that, it becomes inaccessible to Joe Bloggs. And people get angry at things they don't understand.
Yet, the art world does damn all to try and reach out to 'non-artists' - Hell, even me, who thinks that a glass bottle hanging from
